What is WEVO Tastings?
WEVO Tastings is short for Wine Experience Video Online. It is a service that brings wine consumers and Wine Experts of all types together to create a unique opportunity to share in wine tastings of any size.
Where does the wine come from?
WEVO Tastings customers are free to choose wines from any of the options presented on our website - https://wevotastings.com. In the future, we hope to extend this service to any wine, anywhere, anytime; but for now, selections are limited to these offerings. These offerings are intended to provide as much variety as possible.
Does the service include the purchase of the wine?
Yes, the fees charged includes the price of the wine. Some Experts offer tastings of multiple flights of wine, and you will see the price update based on which flight you select.
What if the wine is delayed in arriving and I have to re-schedule?
We ask that any cancellations be made within 24 hours of the scheduled event. You can reach out to our support team at email@example.com and they will work with you to get the tasting rescheduled.
Will I be charged if I no-show an event?
Unfortunately, yes. WEVO Tastings will make every attempt to work with you if there are unavoidable circumstances, but we believe the Wine Expert should be compensated for their time that they cut out of their day for the event.
Can I tip the Wine Expert?
Of course! Tipping is encouraged, especially if you feel you were given exceptional service. WEVO Tastings does not take anything from the tip, so 100% of it goes directly to the Wine Aficionado. We recommend using Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, or whatever means the Wine Expert accepts.
Why can't I just add the tip through WEVO directly?
Our merchant fees take a percentage from each transaction that gets run through our site. So if we were to take the tips through our payment system, not all of it would make it to the Wine Expert. And that just didn't sit well with us. This option may come in the future though!
Is WEVO Tastings affiliated with any any Wine of The Month clubs?
No. However, WEVO Tastings does work with wine distributors who have referral programs.
What if I’m a beginner and just want a fun experience?
We encourage all types of wine drinkers, from Beginner to Advanced. Our Wine Experts are more than happy to show you the ropes if it’s your first tasting, or deep dive about a particular wine if you are an experienced wine taster.
Will WEVO Tastings provide a Wine Expert if I can’t decide?
Yes, simply hit the button to “Pick For Me” at the Expert selection and an Aficionado will be provided.
What if I’m not satisfied with my Wine Expert?
We do our best to ensure the Wine Experts are knowledgeable and courteous. WEVO Tastings recommends providing candid feedback using the Rating System. We constantly monitor reviews to see where we can improve and how we can help our Experts excel in making you happy. You can also contact our support team, firstname.lastname@example.org, with additional questions or comments about a particular session.
When am I billed?
Your credit card will be billed at checkout.
What if my session does not last the entire time that I chose?
In that case, enjoy the extra time, however you choose to spend it!
Do I need to sign up for a membership? Does that cost me anything?
WEVO does require a free profile to be created so that we have your information to reach out to you to remind you of the event you purchased. In the future, we may offer a subscription which will come with lots of cool "free" benefits. But that will be completely optional, and your free profile will remain a free profile.
What are WEVO Events?
A WEVO Event is a live virtual tasting hosted by a winery or expert in a Webinar format. When you order this type of event it includes one set of the wines being tasted, WEVO sends your order to the winery and from there they will ship you bottles of each wine they are showcasing so that you can follow along at home at the time of the event. You are paying for the wine, shipping and access to the video link from one location. Feel free to invite friends and family over to taste along with you, but if you want to enjoy the bottles all to yourself then we certainly won’t judge. Even if we are a bit jealous…
Virtual, you say? How do I join it after I purchase?
After your purchase, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to join at the time of the event. The email will also have tips on things like recommended glassware, or food pairings that can help bring the experience to the next level for you.
What device can I watch the tasting on?
You can watch it on any device you desire. Huddle around your phone, ipad, laptop, or cast it on your big screen tv so you can kick back and relax in your favorite living room spot while sipping on some delicious wine.
Do I have to pay per person who will be watching with me?
No, you are paying for one location’s access to the tasting. Your location can have however many people you are comfortable with sharing the wine with. Just keep in mind, with more people means more noise and less wine for you. So we recommend ordering some more bottles if you are hosting more than 5 people. 1 set of wine bottles is good for 1 tasting and some generous after webinar drinking.
Do I have to drink the wine during the event?
This is totally up to you. If you would rather just watch the event to take tasting notes and open the wine at a later date, we commend you on your willpower. Bottles don’t stay corked for long around here. Or full for that matter.
How do I interact with the Winery during the event?
During WEVO Events, you can ask questions or post comments via the chat and the Q&A sections. These can either be answered live, or one of the moderators from the winery will reply with their answers. A winery or expert can also post live polls during the event to get your opinions on topics or questions they have for you.
Can I video chat with the Winery Representative during the event?
Because these events typically host a large amount of viewers, we mostly keep the interaction to chats, Q&A, and polls. To be able to video chat back and forth with an expert, we recommend signing up for an Expert+Wine Experience, as these are smaller groups which allow more interaction. You can always ask if the winery has any representatives signed up as Experts on the WEVO site that you can book in the chat or Q&A section.
What requirements do I need to have to watch the tasting online?

How do Wine Experts get paid?
WEVO Tastings will ensure Experts are paid within 2 business days, assuming the Expert has a valid account with Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle.
As a Wine Expert, what can I expect to be paid?
Hourly rates are under review, but all Experts begin at $50USD/hour. It is expected that certifications will increase the per hour compensation for Experts.
Do I need experience to be a Wine Expert?
Experience is recommended as the Wine Enthusiasts will range from Beginner to Advanced. You will be rated on your courteousness and knowledge of the wines. We find that prior experience giving wine tastings helps to positively influence these ratings, however it is not required.
Are any Wine Experts sommeliers?
Experts of all varieties are welcome to come on board. Sommeliers included! We encourage Experts to put their credentials in their bio so if they are a sommelier you should see that listed.
